Today is Lilly Singh’s 30th birthday. Lilly, or IISuperwomanII, as you may know her, is a famous Canadian Youtuber and social media influencer. She’s earned several awards and millions of subscribers for good reason. Not only is she funny and stylish, she is inspirational and empowering, and her latest message carries profound value.

The YouTube star has partnered with UNICEF on several campaigns to provide education to the children of the world who need our help. Her first campaign called “GirlLove” was led to end girl-on-girl hate and replace it with unity and kindness. Shopping for #GirlLove bracelets provides the funds needed to educate young girls in Kenya, Ecuador, and India.

Her latest work with UNICEF will also be heard around the world. It’s called Generation Unlimited and it’s “a global partnership that aims to ensure that every young person is in education, learning, training or employment by 2030.” Lilly believes that any conversation about a better future must involve young people.

She believes that the times we live in have influenced the youth to think creatively, passionately, and powerfully. Generation Unlimited acknowledges, “With education, skills and empowerment, these young people will help transform economies and nations. But a fast-changing global economy demands increasingly specialized skills at a time when many education systems are struggling.” With the work of amazing people like Lilly, many under-served young men and women around the world will gain the resources necessary to be educated and to be heard.
