A Sports Filled Weekend

There is no reason not to watch the Golden State Warriors. None. Steph Curry and his mates have every reason to believe they can break the NBA record of 72 regular-season wins and repeat as champions, and they do it with flash and style. Hope you didn’t miss Curry scoring 51 against the Orlando Magic on Thursday night, with 10 3-pointers.

NBA2

Tune in on Saturday night (ABC, 8:30 p.m.) when the Warriors take on the Oklahoma City Thunder, one of their main challengers in the Western Conference. The Warriors are a sick 52-5; the Thunder are a not-too-shabby 41-17.

NHL
NBA3
The NHL presents an interesting matchup on Sunday with the Washington Capitals meeting the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks just traded for Andrew Ladd, who helped them win the 2010 Stanley Cup, and they’ve been slumping with five losses in their last seven games. Washington’s 44 wins and 92 points are by far the best in the league. You can see this on NBC at 12:30 p.m.

NASCAR
NBA4
NASCAR moves on to Atlanta at 1 p.m. Sunday on Fox for the Folds of Honor Quik Trip 500. NASCAR.com tell us that “this weekend’s race will be the first for Sprint Cup teams with the base 2016 rules package, a package that is similar to what was used last season at Kentucky Speedway and Darlington Raceway. It features a 3.5-inch spoiler, a quarter-inch leading splitter edge and a 33-inch wide radiator pan.” NASCAR did not supply an English translation. So you’ll have to watch to figure that out.

NFL
NBA5
The NFL scouting combine is live from Friday through Monday and fans can tune in to see college prospects perform a variety of drills for scouts. The chatter is endless but some of the workouts can be fascinating. This is on NFL Network and seems to never stop.

Elsewhere
Pick two of three college basketball games to round out your six-pack. We’ve got a few matching Top 25 teams. No. 9 Arizona and No. 22 Utah get after it on Saturday at 2 p.m., the same time as No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 25 Texas (CBS) tangle. Same time, but on ESPN3, is No. 11 Louisville at No. 12 Miami.
