Super Tuesday

Yesterday was yet another ‘Super Tuesday’ and as expected it was a huge day! Polls were open from roughly 7am to 8.30pm across Florida, Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio. And as the results started to roll in the candidates started to give their speeches from various locations across the United States.

However, there was one persons speech in particular that stood out and that was Marco Rubio’s because during his speech he announced that he would be suspending his campaign after taking a downward turn in the primary results as he lost his home state to Donald Trump.

To start with the Republicans, Trump won Florida, Missouri, North Carolina and with 99% of reporting he takes a .2 lead over Cruz in Missouri. On the other hand, Kasich had a huge night as he swept Ohio, his home state, which keeps him in the race just a little bit longer. Cruz and Rubio did not fully win any of the states.

On the Democratic side, Clinton had a huge night, which she wasn’t really expecting. She knew she was going to do well but not this well. Clinton as she watched from West Palm Beach, Florida won all five states with the reporting in Missouri being 99% completed and a .2 lead over Sanders. Sanders had a bit of an upset last night, but he is hoping to win some more states as the candidates move west and then over to New York and New Jersey.
