No new ‘Assassins Creed’ for a while?

Ubisoft will not be releasing a new ‘Assassins Creed’ title any time soon. They will instead be releasing additional content for ‘Assassins Creed Odyssey.’ Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, stated and GamesCom explained the reasoning behind Odyssey’s released.

Both Odyssey and Origins were being developed simultaneously; therefore, Ubisoft thought it would be pointless to make another game.

“On Assassin’s, we had a game [in 2018] and we have one this year, but we are not going to have a full-fledged Assassin’s next year,” reported Guillemot. “It’s just because the team were working separately, so we have two games now, one year after the other. But next year you’re not going to have a fully fledged one.”

He was then asked if they were releasing a spin off in the near future. He replied that they wouldn’t be doing that either. Ubisoft’s primary focus, right now, is working on ‘Assassins Creed Odyssey.’

The new Odyssey content launches on October 5 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The setting is based in ancient Greece, where you can choose to be either a man or a woman.
