Disney Fans Excited For ‘The Lion King’
Disney has released a new trailer for its highly anticipated film “The Lion King’ — and it’s stunning!
The trailer opens with Simba and Nala exploring the ominous Elephant Graveyard, followed by a clip of Mufasa and Simba standing atop Pride Rock. The trailer also features live-action remakes of some of The most famous scenes in “The Lion King,” such as Simba, Timon, and Puumba walking under a full moon singing “Hakuna Matata.”
“The Lion King” is a remake of Disney’s critically acclaimed, animated 1994 film. The live-action version features an all-star cast: Donald Glover as the voice of Simba, Beyonce as Nala, Seth Rogan as Puumba, and John Oliver as Zazu. James Earl Jones, who voiced Mufasa in the 1994 animated film, is making a return in the same role.
“The Lion King” is one of several live-action remakes of animated films Disney plans to release this year, following the smashing success of Beauty and the Beast two years ago. A Dumbo remake debuted in theaters late last month. In May, a live action version of Aladdin hits theaters, and a remake of Mulan is scheduled for release in 2020.
But “The Lion King,” perhaps the most highly-anticipated live-action remake to date, hits the screens on July 19th, 2019. Judging by the brief trailer, it’s definitely been worth the wait.
