Palm Beach County may be known for its vibrant nightlife and coastal energy, but beyond the usual bars and bustling venues, there are spaces that feel more intentional — more layered, more cultural, and more rooted in experience than spectacle. Tucked along Lake Avenue in Lake Worth Beach is one of those rare finds: Off the Clock, a listening lounge that invites you to slow down, settle in, and connect through music, art, and community.
The space was created by husband-and-wife team, Horace and Elizabeth Henry, a couple who spent years working across South Florida’s finest hospitality venues before launching their own event company, Off the Clock Editions. The duo spent years staging pop-ups, fashion shows, and listening nights across Palm Beach County before bringing their vision to a permanent home. Off the Clock is less about nightlife in the traditional sense and more about atmosphere. A space thoughtfully designed as a home for creatives, conversation, and culture, it carries a sense of purpose that is immediately felt the moment you step inside. The lighting is warm, the sound is rich, and the energy is present yet unforced — a balance that feels both elevated and deeply welcoming.
Rather than overwhelming the room, music moves through it. Vinyl spins, DJs curate soulful sets starting most nights from 7pm, spanning funk, reggae, Afrobeats, house, and beyond, and the sound system is intentionally tuned for listening, not just background noise. It’s immersive without being overpowering — the kind of environment where conversations flow naturally and time seems to soften at the edges. The concept of a listening lounge is central here, but the experience extends far beyond music. It’s a cultural gathering point, shaped by years of the Henrys hosting pop-ups, fashion events, and curated creative nights across South Florida before establishing a permanent home for their vision.
That same sense of intention carries seamlessly into the culinary and cocktail program.
The food menu curated by, Head Chef Reginald Burgess leans on a magnificent blend of refined technique with bold, globally inspired flavors, offering dishes that feel both comforting and elevated. Small plates with big flavors arrive thoughtfully composed, layered with depth and character, while craft cocktails complement the mood of the space rather than compete with it. Nothing feels excessive; everything feels considered.
There is also a quiet sense of belonging woven throughout the experience. While the venue includes a private level members club and signature Edition events that gather artists, professionals, and tastemakers, the main floor remains open, inclusive, and effortlessly social. The crowd is eclectic yet cohesive — a reflection of the environment itself. Warm. Creative. Intentionally curated, yet never exclusionary.
Sip, Listen, & Stay Awhile
What makes Off the Clock distinctive isn’t just the music, the cocktails, or the beautifully curated interior. It’s the feeling. The sense that you’ve stepped into a space built with heart — one designed for presence, creativity, and genuine connection. In a region that often moves fast, Off the Clock offers something refreshingly different: a listening lounge where culture, cuisine, and community exist in quiet harmony, and every evening feels thoughtfully composed rather than simply planned.
