Happy World Heart Day
Today the World Heart Organization celebrates World Heart Day to reducing health complications from heart disease and educate on ways to prevent Cardiovascular disease (CVD). Maintaining a healthy life starts with having a healthy heart and there’s a couple of easy things that can help improve your heart health.
Changing Your Diet
Heart diseases can be linked to the diet and certain foods can help to prevent the risk of heart disease with some healthy food options. There are some vegetables and fruits that are easy to incorporate in dishes for your daily diet.
Garlic helps to lower blood pressure and dilates the blood vessel, it’s also super easy to add to dishes for your daily intake. Watermelon is rich in the lycopene antioxidant to battle harmful free radicals that contribute to heart disease.
Green tea helps to lower triglycerides and LDL cholesterol to prevent heart health while raising HDL levels. Having green tea also helps to keep you hydrated while promoting heart health.
Exercise
Another way to improve heart health is by getting active with aerobic exercise to improve circulation to regulate heart rate while lowering blood pressure. It’s recommended to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week with fun activities including cycling, running, swimming, walking, jumping rope, and playing tennis.
Vitamins and Supplements
Another simple thing to improve heart health is taking simple supplements to help prevent heart disease but it’s recommended to consult your doctor on whether supplements are a good option for you. Coenzyme Q10 or CoQ10 helps to lower blood pressure and Fish Oil contains omega-3 fatty acids to reduce levels of triglycerides (unhealthy fat in the bloodstream) that help improve blood pressure.
