Amazon Looking To Expand

Amazon is a company that seems to be doing pretty well and has decided to take the next step in building out its own shipping network by expanding its Amazon Flex delivery program to include standard Amazon.com packages.

You may recall that Amazon launched Flex last fall to let part-time drivers earn cash for delivering packages for Prime Now, a same-day delivery service. Now, Amazon is asking some Flex drivers to deliver packages that would normally be handled by UPS or FEDEX.

Amazon has been buying up thousands of truck trailers to better support shipping between its fulfillment centers because shipping costs are one of Amazon’s biggest drags on profit, costing the company $11.5 billion last year.
