If there’s one classic Disney movie that got kids interested in the wildlife of Africa, it was The Lion King. To this day, Simba remains one of Disney’s most popular characters, with his distinctively proud lion muzzle identifiable to kids and adults all over the world. It’s only fitting, then, that this king of lions would make his way to Disney Dreamlight Valley, along with some other classic Disney highlights. Here’s what you need to know about Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s Pride of the Valley update.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: Pride of the Valley Update Highlights

Pride of the Valley is the fourth major content update for Disney Dreamlight Valley, and it just launched today, April 5. As the name no doubt tipped you off, the update introduces some brand new Lion King content, including characters, constructs, and locales, building upon the existing Lion King content that came with the addition of its villain, Scar.

The door in the Dream Castle with the distinctive lion logo has opened, revealing Pride Rock and its residents, Simba and Nala. Help them out with their quests, including gathering bugs and running off hyenas, and they’ll come to live in the Valley, where you can build a house for them in the image of their savannah home.

Disney Parks Star Path

Simba and Nala aren’t the only major additions to the game, however. Disney Dreamlight Valley’s newest Star Path allows you to recreate some of the classic rides from real-life Disney parks. You’ll be able to set up the classic Mickey Ferris Wheel, the Pixar Pal-Around, the Mad Tea Party, and the Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride, as well as unlock new Dream Style outfits for Donald and Goofy.

Additional Highlights

Here are a few more highlights to look forward to in the Pride of the Valley update:

  • Easter Event: From April 8 to April 29, the game will feature a limited-edition Easter questline, including egg gathering and unlocking special cosmetics and items
  • Animal Companion Upgrades: All animal companions have new selfie poses, as well as new craftable interactable items
  • Twitch Drops: Unlock new items in-game by watching Twitch streamers play
  • Improved Buffs and Recovery: The Well-Fed buff allows you to sprint and increases your likelihood of finding rare items, and you can restore energy by resting on outdoor chairs
  • Hovering Ability: You can unlock the ability to hover and glide along the ground to move faster than walking

All of these new features are in the game right now, so visit the Valley and get into the Disney spirit! I wonder if they’ll add churros to go with those park rides at some point…
