Antibiotics stand between us and the bacteria that can make us ill, but some say the overuse of antibiotics for livestock poses an even greater danger to our health.
Recently more in depth questions have been posed about the health (or lack of health) when it comes to antibiotic usage in livestock.
Citing a potential threat to public health, the Food and Drug Administration moved Wednesday toward phasing out the use of some antibiotics in animals processed for meat.
This move highlights a major shift in what types of medications and drugs livestock providers will be able to give their animals.
