Did we mention the boat is self-fueling

This boat is truly one of a kind and is the only boat in the world that runs solely on hydrogen and renewable energy. The great minds behind the ‘Energy Observer’ project have the goal of educating and raising awareness for the third industrial revolution according to the captain Victorien Erussard.

The boat emits no greenhouse gases or small particles that are harmful to your health. Hydrogen is produced onboard through a special system, water is electrolyzed and energy is created from solar panels. The entire boat is covered in solar panels and features two wind turbines for additional power.

The Energy Observer boat is currently on a six-year voyage to test the technologies in a marine environment so in extreme conditions the vessel can adapt for the ground so it can possible to install in a house, hotel or scale town. The big goal for this project is to create energy autonomy with no fine particles or greenhouse gas emissions.

The vessel is powered by electric propulsion with a combination of renewable energies and the hydrogen production system uses seawater to produce carbon-free hydrogen. The tech isn’t the only amazing thing about this one of a kind vessel.

The interior design has a modern design with enough room for comfortable crew quarters. Last month the Energy Observer completed their leg of the Northern European tour in London.
