Parnas accuses Giuliani of supporting Trump blackmailing Ukraine

Lev Parnas, a former friend of Rudy Giuliani’s, says he was intimately involved in President Trump’s plan to blackmail Ukraine in order to get dirt on Joe Biden. But Giuliani, now a lawyer for Donald Trump, says Parnas’ claims are “stupid lies.”

Parnas is a Ukrainian-born businessman who claims Trump and Giuliani used him as a go-between with Ukrainian officials.

“The man is a demonstrated liar…He didn’t just lie, he lied stupidly–a stupid lie is when your partner Igor Fruman can contradict you. A stupid lie is when there is a tape recording that can contradict you. A stupid lie is when there is a passport that can contradict you,” Giuliani said on Fox News on Monday night. He said Parnas is simply “afraid of going to prison.”

Trump denies knowing Parnas, despite appearing with him in several photos. Trump says Parnas approached him at campaign events to take pictures, but the relationship ended there.

Giuliani also told Fox News he has nothing to hide in the Ukraine scandal and would be happy to testify at Trump’s impeachment trial.

“I wouldn’t mind being called as a witness for a lot of reasons, including being able to reveal the unbelievable amount of corruption that went on between the Democratic Party and Ukraine all throughout the Obama Administration,” Giuliani said. “I think people will be astounded to know the hundreds of millions of dollars that illegally passed hands between Americans and Ukrainians.”
