Dolphins Sweep Saints, Maintain Winning Streak

The Dolphins have had both a winning streak and losing streak in the same season.

Yesterday’s Monday Night Football proved to be another dynamite evening for the Miami Dolphins, who absolutely demolished the New Orleans Saints with a final score of 20-3. The Saints are in dire straits right now, as COVID-19 protocols have benched 22 of their players. This forced the inexperienced Ian Book into the quarterback role, where he suffered eight sacks from the Dolphins’ defensive line.

In winning this game, the Dolphins have set an unusual record in the NFL. This victory has given them a seven-game winning streak, while earlier in this very season, they experienced a seven-game losing streak. This means the Dolphins are the first team in NFL history to have two seven-game streaks in both directions in a single season.

One standout player of yesterday’s game was Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, who is only five completed catches away from breaking the all-time rookie catch record set by Anquan Boldin in 2003. When asked about the record after the game, Waddle kept his expectations measured.

“As far as importance, I wouldn’t say it’s like something I got my mind focused on,” Waddle said. “I’m all for it as long as it comes with some wins. It would obviously be pretty cool, cause NFL is a special league so anything in this league to have a record in is always big.”
