Problems already on launch day
The much-anticipated Disney Plus streaming service is experiencing serious technical difficulties on its first day. The company said extremely high demand is responsible for the crash, and technicians are working to fix it as quickly as possible.
“The demand for #DisneyPlus has exceeded our highest expectations. We are so pleased you’re excited to watch all your favorites and are working quickly to resolve any current issues. We appreciate your patience,” @Disney+, the streaming service’s official Twitter account, tweeted. But that didn’t stop irritated customers from griping about the delay.
“So y’all crediting those who joined in advance, to avoid this, with that time back, or nah?” one user, @sm1savnme, tweeted in response.
Disney Plus also delayed the launch of the streaming service in Puerto Rico, Canada, and other places without warning. The company now says the streaming service will debut in these regions next week, and users who had pre-ordered the service were greeted with an error message.
“Disney+ is only available in certain regions. Depending on where you are located, you may not be able to access Disney+,” the message said.
The company said they are trying to fix the glitches immediately, and that the service should be available soon. The service offers a full range of classic Disney Channel shows and movies, such as “Darkwing Duck” and “Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers.”
