Marvel Studies has again captured the magic and joy of their comic collection of superheroes in the latest installment of the popular series Thor. The world premier for the sequel to the first film took place on October 22 at the Odeon Leicester Square in London. With a list of top A list stars in attendance, the premier along with the movie was lavishing and a hit among the top reviewers.

An A List of Stars

Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, and Kat Dennings were among the stars in attendance who not only dazzled on the red carpet but gave excellent performances in the 112 minute film. In an elegant long-sleeved back top and silver Christian Dior skirt, Natalie Portman stole the evening. With both her charm and grace on and off screen, Portman captured the hearts of both fans and onlookers during the world premier event. As the role of Jane, she brings a unique twist to her role as Thor’s love interest that is not seen in many superhero movies today. With very high intellect displayed throughout the film, the character of Jane in some ways steals the show. While other superhero movies put very little fundamentals into the female lead this particular movie chose to do the opposite.

An Intriguing Plot

The movie’s main premise takes place one year after the events of another popular superhero movie The Avengers, which was released in 2012. “Thor: The Dark World” introduces fans to a new villain played by Christopher Eccleston. Eccleston plays Malekith, the ruler of the dark elves, who for 5,000 years has been trying to plunge the entire universe into darkness. When Portman’s character stumbles upon a lethal dose of Aether that could be used to finally accomplish Malekith’s evil plan, Thor is forced to reunite with his longtime nemesis of a brother played by Tom Hiddleston. The movie follows a basic superhero plot, but with the added essence the movie captures it is sure to exceed anyone’s expectations.

Something for Everyone

Of course the star of the show is Australian actor Chris Hemsworth whose nude scenes will leave many female fans wanting more. “They’re rather intimidating, to be honest,” Hemsworth admitted while chatting with Daily News readers from London about how he felt filming in the nude. Whether one is a superhero enthusiast or just interested in seeing Hemsworth’s charming and appealing character, the Thor sequel is bound to attract audiences of all ages.

The return of Thor to the big screen will leave many wanting more, but fans won’t have to wait too long for another dose of Thor. According to screen writers Christopher L. Yost, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely three more installments of the series is already under way with many of the top A stars already contracted in. If the next three installments are anything like this sequel, Thor may go down in history as one of the best movies created around a comic superhero. The actors and storyline presented during the World Premier event were intriguing and sophisticated. With the creation of Thor, audiences are left with hope that at the end of the day good triumphs over evil, and that even in today’s age where many horrible films are written for the big screen there are still some that capture our imagination.
