Ted Ligety Wins Gold in Olympic Giant Slalom

 
Ted Ligety established a huge first-run lead and then comfortably held on to win the giant slalom at the Sochi Games on Wednesday.

His medal earning performance allows him to become the first American man to win two Olympic gold medals in Alpine skiing.

Toeing the line between exhilaration and terror while speeding down snow covered mountains at speeds reaching 100 mph is where the 29-year-old alpine skier, World Champion and Olympic gold medalist thrives.  

Having just won his 1st World Cup super-combined season-long circuit Ted is at the height of his performance right now.

The American triple world champion said in a recent interview that “the goal is to come as close as he can” to his medal winning performances from the past.

Well he did just that, making both himself and America very proud!
