Nike wants to thank healthcare workers for all their hard work through the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic with a huge gift of over 140,000 pieces of apparel, footwear, and equipment. Nike will be working in partnership with the nonprofit Good360 to distribute 30,000 pairs of Nike Air Zoom Pulse sneakers for hospitals and health care systems in major cities in the US.

Nike will also be contributing 2,500 pairs to European hospitals in Belgium, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, Milan, and London. The new Nike sneakers were released back in December that is specifically designed for healthcare workers that are on their feet all day.

The Air Zoom Pulse design features a specially cushioned sole for a laceless sneaker that can withstand hospital conditions that are easy to slip on and off. This design is an athletic version of the classic clog used by healthcare workers that offers posture and arch support with a “smooth capacity for natural motion” according to a Nike release statement.

Nike will also be donating 95,000 pairs of soccer socks that offer mild compression for healthcare workers in New York City and Los Angeles. They also donated 3,500 pieces of sweat-wicking Dri-FIT apparel and 4,000 pairs of shoes to more than a dozen sheets and hospitals across Europe.
