Possible “Saved By the Bell” comeback

Mark-Paul Gosselaar, famous for his role as Zack Morris in the 90’s teen sitcom “Saved By the Bell,” is open to a reboot of the beloved show.

“Saved By The Bell” aired from 1988 to 1993 and become a much-loved and iconic comedy. At the 2018 Television Critic Association’s Summer Press Tour, Gosselaar said a lot of “reboots” don’t do the original shows justice–but that he would consider a reboot as long as it was done well.

“I’d like to see a version that was worth everyone’s time,” Gosselaar said. “There’s a lot of versions that we see that don’t do it justice. But I’d like to see a version, yeah, I’d like to see a version that we’d all agree on.”

Gosselaar’s famous co-stars, like Mario Lopez (Slater) and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen (Kelly Kopowksi) haven’t commented publicly on the idea of remaking the show. But Gosselaar said he admired the “Karate Kid” reboot, which was renamed “Cobra Kai.”

“I do like what ‘Cobra Kai’ has done. I think that that’s a very interesting way of doing a reboot,” Gosselaar said. “I don’t know if whether or not we could do that with our show, but I’d be interested in something that was along the lines of that.”
