D&G Celebrates Fashion Evolution With New Collection

The fashion industry can be hard on an individual’s self-esteem. The pressure it puts on both women and men to look good, to have the newest things, or to conform to certain styles can be daunting, especially from the influence of the high fashion industry.

That’s part of the reason why The Guardian called Dolce & Gabbana the “unlikely champions of diversity” in their recent Milan runway fashion show. The fashion show was called “DNA Evolution” and was designed based on so many interesting elements!

Designer Stefano Gabbana explains in an interview that they looked at their own evolution and history of designs, back twenty years. He says that the goal of the show was to express “who we really are” and make us think about our humanity in a digital era.

The Guardian describes, “This was showcased on a broad range of characters: same-sex couples, babies in arms, a bride who wore white trainers under her frothy gown and gold headphones instead of a tiara.”

The show was all about embracing people’s differences and also the way that they grow and change. Everybody has their own uniqueness to be celebrated. Guest and model at the fashion show, Emily Ratajkowski, said that the designers made a great effort to make sure everybody got to choose their look and felt fabulous.
