The Muppet Show Reboot

It’s time to play the music. It’s time to light the lights. It’s time to meet the Muppets on TV once again? Could it be true? Early reports are speculating that ABC is negotiating a deal to bring everyone’s favorite puppets back to television for another round of ‘The Muppet Show’.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Big Bang Theory co-creator Bill Prady is set to write the script along with 3rd Rock From the Sun writer Bob Kushell. No word yet on when we could be expecting the Muppets to make their return but it seems as though the show will be returning to its roots by providing audiences with a variety show filled with sketches, musical performances, and hopefully some famous celebrity cameos.

It should not come as too much of a surprise though that a complete revival is in the mix. Just in the past five years alone Disney has sparked a nostalgic return of the Muppets with two feature length films that gained mass success all over the world.

“Man or Muppet” from the first film even earned an Oscar for Best Song at the 84th Academy Awards. So be on the lookout soon for more timeless entertainment from the likes of Kermit, Fozzie Bear, and of course the loveable Miss Piggy. I’m sure we can expect corny jokes, those grumpy old men, and tons of flying fishes!
