Monday night saw the final episode of the 2022 Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions, the main event of a Jeopardy! season where the three most prominent contestants return for one final trivia-based showdown. This year’s contestants were Amy Schneider, Andrew He, and Sam Buttrey.

At the Final Jeopardy phase, the category was “Plays,” and the answer was “The Jan. 12, 1864 Washington evening star reported on a performance of this ‘dashing comedy’ to ‘a full and delighted house.’”

With a $13,000 wager, Schneider answered correctly with “What is ‘Our American Cousin?’” This sizable bet clinched her the victory, and the $250,000 grand prize for the show.

“I feel amazing,” Schneider said following her victory. “Earlier in the finals, I had this sudden moment of seeing myself and being like, ‘I’m on stage in the Tournament of Champions finals,’ and that was crazy. And I won! It’s a great feeling.”

“Any of the three of us really could have won if a very small number of things had gone differently,” Schneider said. “I’m glad we got a really fair chance to test our skills against each other.”

In addition to her Champion title, Schneider also maintains one of the longest Jeopardy! winning streaks in the show’s history with 40 consecutive victories during her appearances in Season 38.
