It’s the news that is breaking headlines to start the week off! If you haven’t already heard Alaska Airlines is making waves in the world of air travel.

The company just bought out Virgin America for a value of around 4 billion dollars. Virgin America is constantly given a top ranking by US airlines passengers, so the move comes as somewhat of a shock. The two airlines will merge, much to the dismay of Virgin Group founder Richard Branson.

Branson said of the deal “I would be lying if I didn’t admit sadness that our wonderful airline is merging with another.” For more details be sure to check out the video above.
