Jennifer thank Reese for inspiration to get back on TV

Jennifer Aniston says fellow actress Reese Witherspoon convinced her to take on her new role in the Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show.” The series tells the story of two female news anchors battling sexism, ageism, and sexual harassment on the job.

“The whole package that was presented was ideal. You couldn’t have dreamed something up better than this world,” Aniston said on Entertainment Tonight while discussing the series. She then said to Witherspoon, “It was all your fault. It was, literally.”

Aniston says she studied high-profile sexual harassment cases and stories from the #MeToo movement in preparation for her role. She was especially interested in the case of Matt Lauer, the former Today host who has since been accused of sexual harassment and assault on the job. Lauer was fired from his position after the allegations surfaced.

“The show was always going to pull the curtain of the New York media world and behind the scenes of morning talk shows,” Aniston said in a press conference on October 13 about the show. “Once #MeToo happened, the conversation drastically changed. Then we incorporated it and we sat and thought what the tone would be. We wanted it to be raw and honest and vulnerable and messy and not black-and-white.”

The Morning Show debuts on Apple TV on November 1st.
