The Battle Begins
Roc Nation is suing Rita Ora for $2.4m, yes you heard that right. Jay Z’s record label has filed the suit against his former protégé, accusing her of breaking her recording contract and failing to deliver her second album, which they claim to have spent almost $2m developing and marketing.
According to the filing, obtained by the New York Post’s Page Six, Rita was contracted for five albums but has so far only released one. When Rita signed Roc Nations senior executives were very involved with her as an artist but as Roc Nation diversified and suffered a change in executives and resources so significant that Rita no longer was in touch with anyone at the company.
Will Roc Nation end up winning the suit? For more details be sure to check out the video above.
