Several members of the late night circuit recalled their times with the late comedian.
Last night, comedian and Saturday Night Live alum Norm Macdonald passed away at the age of 61. Macdonald had been fighting a battle against cancer for nearly ten years, though he made a conscious effort to keep this fight separate from his friends, family, and career. Following the announcement of his passing, several members of the late-night talk show circuit spoke up in memoriam, recalling their interactions with the comedy icon.
There are very few really funny people
Norm MacDonald was one of them
It's infuriating to learn that his comedy was

“All Norm ever wanted to do was make us laugh and he was absolutely brilliant at it,” Late Late Show host James Corden said. “There was nobody quite like him. I felt privileged every time I got to be in his orbit. He leaves us as one of the all-time greatest comics, perhaps the single greatest guest in the history of late-night television, I think.”
Great article about Norm Macdonald’s genius. https://t.co/xqmUHGqf7s

“I wish I were a good enough comedian to come up with a joke right now about Norm Macdonald having died,” Late Show host Stephen Colbert said. “But the only comedian I know who could get away with a ‘Norm Macdonald is dead’ joke is Norm Macdonald. I’m going to miss the fact that there’s nobody left on the planet who can do that and the comedy world is poorer for it today.”
