The ASKA is one vehicle that can offer two options for transportation
Kaplinsky Maki is developing one of the world’s first functioning flying car named the ASKA. This new development would revolutionize travel as we know it.
The current prototype model is the size of an SUV that is designed to both drive and fly. ASKA has a flying range of 250 miles and featured retractable wings that span 40 feet to turn the car into a flying vehicle.
Users will be able to pilot the vehicle or let it fly in autonomous mode and this is just one of many accomplishments by the creators. Maki is a serial entrepreneur since graduating from university, seeing success in male-dominated industries.
In 2011, Maki and her husband, Guy, moved to Tokyo with their three kids where the couple launched IQP Corp, a software start-up with a code-free development platform for Internet applications. This idea was far ahead of its time with IQP Corp went four years without generating revenue.
Eventually, the world of technology caught up to their concept, realizing Maki’s solution can reduce app development by 80 percent and the company went global shortly after, being acquired by GE Digital in 2017. Maki’s next mission would be putting all her hard work into developing the ASKA through her lastest start-up company, NFT Inc, working to revolutionize the transportation industry from their Silicone Valley base in California.
The first driving and flying vehicle by NFT was unveiled at the Ecomotion conference in Isreal last year. NFT plans on stating testing for 2020 with sales planned to start in 2025.
