Enter Marvel’s Spider-Verse For The Holidays

On October 2nd, a new trailer for the animated Spider-Man spin-off film, Spider-Man: Enter the Spider-Verse, was released. The trailer gave some more detail into the story of the film, showing us a super collider in Miles Morales’ New York going haywire and tearing holes in the fabric of reality. Through these holes alternate Spider heroes come tumbling through, and they need to band together to destroy the collider, all while teaching Miles more about what it means to be a hero.

In addition to the previously known hero team of Miles Morales, Peter Parker, and Gwen Stacy, we now know of three more Spider heroes who will be joining in: Peni Parker, a Japanese girl who pilots a robot with spider powers, Spider-Man Noir, a webslinger from a dark and gritty 20s-style universe, and Spider-Ham, a cartoony creature from a world of talking animals.

Of special note is the casting choices for Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Ham. For Noir, we have veteran actor and one-time stealer of the Declaration of Independence, Nicholas Cage. As Ham, we have comedy sensation and my personal vote for funniest man ever, John Mulaney.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will hit theaters this holiday season on December 14th, 2018.
