Lohan defends her business venture
Lindsay Lohan’s MTV reality show, “Beach Club,” has been canceled, reportedly for lack of drama. The series was set at a beach club Lohan owns in Mykonos, Greece. According to Vanity Fair, viewers were expecting more volatile behavior and catfighting between Lohan and her Mom, Dinah, and sister, Ali, who also appeared on the show.
Lindsay defended herself in a now-deleted Instagram post, writing, “I prefer my real life to be working with children and being with my family. The club is moving to other locations in the world, but not just the club, as I’ve stated on @wendyshow (sic).”
A source close to Lohan told reporters that viewers wanted Lohan to have meltdowns on “Beach Club,” but that it wasn’t going to happen because Lohan has matured.
“[There wasn’t] enough drama. They wanted ‘breakdowns.’ That’s not where [Lohan] is at with her life anymore. Their personal business doesn’t need to be aired on television; it’s already in the papers anyway,” the source was quoted as saying in Vanity Fair.
In another Instagram post, Lohan shared a picture of child refugees from Syria she had met in Greece, and slammed the media for being more interested in celebrity “meltdowns” than the plight of refugees and other, more serious issues.
