Katy Perry And Taylor Swift End Rivalry

Americans are addicted to watching celebrity catfights. But instead of encouraging feuds, 34-year-old singing sensation Katy Perry wants fans to “learn” from her apology to Taylor Swift.

The two singers began bickering as early as 2013 when Swift accused Perry of stealing her backup dancers. They kept the fight going for years–until Perry decided to make amends.

“I sent her a literal olive branch and a note apologizing for my part in all of it. [And then] I just went up to her and was like, ‘Hey, it’s been a long time and I think we’ve grown up a little bit, and I just wanted to say I’m sorry and I’m really here for you, and that I love you, and I hope that we can be friends in the future,'” Perry said on an Australian radio show. “It’s amazing that we’ve had this opportunity to change, and I hope that other people can learn from it, too.”

Taylor and Katy have since formed a friendly alliance, and Katy even appeared in the video for Taylor’s new single, “You Need to Calm Down.” In an age where tabloids are filled to the brim with celebrity feuds, these two starlets deserve credit for burying the hatchet.
