K9 Officer Was Shot And Makes Amazing Recovery
K9 officer Apache is getting national recognition for his brave endeavors last fall. Last October, his partner, Trooper Walter Butt, released Apache to bring down a suspect that was running away. When he made contact, the person of interest sent bullets flying. Walter went after the suspect and made sure he was secure. But right after, Apache was no where in sight. Apache was missing for 12 hours and his partner was not sure if they would find him alive. When they found him, he had been shot in the neck and was barely alive.

He was taken to the hospital where he received the necessary medical attention and just a short three weeks later, he was back at work. The American Kennel Club awarded Apache with the 2018 Paw of Courage award. Officer Walter cannot thank Apache enough for being a great partner and saving him from a dangerous gunman.
