Movie About Queen Entitled Bohemian Rhapsody
All Freddie Mercury and Queen fans rejoice, as the new trailer for the Bohemian Rhapsody movie released. The movie will be about the rise of the band Queen, including the creative process behind creating the infamous Bohemian Rhapsody song.
The Freddie Mercury biopic will be produced by Queen band members Brian May and Roger Taylor, with release for the movie set for October 2018. Rami Malek from the Mr Robot TV show will be starring in the film as Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen. The movie is to feature the story of the band Queen, not focusing on Freddie Mercury in particular.
The movie will celebrate the impact that Queen created in the music industry through breaking stereotypes and celebrating individuality. Through the film it will show how the band made their rise through the Billboard charts with their chart-topping hits.
The film will show the implosion of Freddie Mercury’s lifestyle that spirals out of control, leading to the band reuniting on the eve of Live Aid in 1985. Mercury is facing the life-threatening illness of AIDS and leads the band to perform one of the most iconic rock shows in history.
The original casting for the character of Freddie Mercury was to be played by the actor from Borat, Sacha Baron Cohen, leaving the project in 2013 for “creative differences” with Mercury’s former band mates. The guitarist of the band called Cohen “an arse,” during the development phases of the film.
The initial director, Bryan Singer, was fired due to taking too much time off for “health concerns,” with director Dexter Fletcher to replace him in production. The U.S. release date is set for November 2, 2018. Check out the trailer of the movie in the video above.
