Another classic is coming to the small screen!
Disney will remake the beloved 1987 comedy “Three Men and a Baby” for its streaming service Disney+. This will be the second remake of the French original, which inspired the ‘80s hit film starring Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson as New York bachelors who discover a baby on their doorstep one day.
Through bizarre circumstances, the three bachelors end up caring for the infant, and though they were reluctant in the beginning, the three men came to love baby Mary. The film inspired a sequel titled “Three Men and a Little Lady” in 1990.
Danson played Jack, an actor and the baby’s biological father, Selleck played Peter, a successful architect, and Guttenberg played Michael, a cartoonist famous for drawing a popular cat. Nancy Travis played Mary’s mother Sylvia. They all reprised their roles in the film’s sequel.
The original film, directed by Leonard Nimoy, was a massive success—it brought in $over $100 million in the U.S. box office. It was recently announced that Zac Efron had been cast as one of the leads in the upcoming remake of “Three Men and a Baby” for Disney+, and now fans are excited to find out who will join the actor in the leading roles.
The script will be written by Will Reichel, and Gordon Gray is on board as a producer. No director has signed on with the production yet. “Three Men and a Baby” will be Efron’s latest project; his most recent is his Netflix show “Down to Earth with Zac Efron” where he travels around the world in search of sustainable food and energy options.
The eight-part docu-series is quite popular currently; fans of the show enjoy seeing Efron travel with his health guru buddy, Darin Olien. Together, the two learn about different cultures and learn how to be kind to Mother Nature.
