The 2018 Met Gala brings bold looks to the red carpet with the theme of Heavenly Bodies, art inspired by Catholicism. The stars and designers took the inspiration to the fullest-extent.
The Met Gala is hosted by Anna Wintour, editor in chief of Vogue. Co-hosts include: fashion designer Donatella Versace, award-winning artist Rihanna, and prominent human rights lawyer Amal Clooney.
Rihanna wore a white short dress with long, pearl-adorned ensemble by designer Margiela. For accessories she wore a pope hat, black rhinestone Christian Louboutin heels, and wearing wrapped pearl necklaces for ankle bracelets.
Amal Clooney wore a corset dress with a train and navy, fitted pants by designer Richard Quinn. The dress print is a metallic floral, with large spike statement earrings and navy stilettos for accessories. Her husband and actor, George Clooney, accompanied her wearing a classic black tuxedo.
Donatella Versace wore a short yellow and navy dress, with Baroque style print. For accessories she wore knee-high, high-heeled boots in matching dress print. The black leather belt gives the dress an attachable. navy long gown option.
Katy Perry wore a metallic gold dress with high stiletto boots by designer Jamie Mizrahi. She also wore a giant pair of angel wings with white and gold feathers.
Jennifer Lopez wore a black structured Balmain gown with a black feather train. The bodice of the dress is adorned with blue, green, red, and yellow stones in the shape of an ornate cross.
Cardi B showed off her baby bump wearing a champagne Jeremy Scott gown with ornate beading, rheinstones, and pearl accents. For accessories she wore gloves, a large pearl choker, and a headpiece. Jeremy Scott escorted her in a matching suit ensemble.
Sarah Jessica Parker was in attendance wearing Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda gold filigree, heart-embellished gown. She wore an intricate crown with a miniature nativity scene, that was quite a statement piece.
Music artist and actress, Zendaya, wore a custom Versace piece inspired by the style of Joan of Arc. A metallic silver dress that is formed to look like a feminine suit of armor.
Screenwriter and actress Lena Waithe wore a black suite with a white shirt and a rainbow cape. Being a member of the LGBTQ community she wanted to represent in all colors.
Rapper 2 Chainz wearing Versace, got down on one knee to purpose to Natasha Ward who was wearing Valentino Haute Coutour. 2 Chainz was wearing a black suit with an embellished jacket and Natasha wore a long fitted white dress with a small train.
