Congrats to JT and Taylor Swift, they cleaned up at the 2013 AMA’s! Justin received 3 awards, due to the huge success of his new two part album the 20/20 Experience and also preformed a soulful rendition of the song “Drink You Away’ off his latest album. Taylor Swift also had a big night at the awards show, snagging 4 awards including the nights top prize for artist of the year.

The years biggest music celebrities we’re working the red carpet in their best finery last night as ladies like Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and other notable music icons made their way into the awards show. Taylor Swift opted for a sexy gold mini, while Katy kept it classy in a black polka dot floor length gown. Miley Cyrus surprised many by covering up for the red carpet, donning a chic winter white pant suit. Lady Gaga, kept true to her shock and awe style by arriving in a beautiful lavender Grecian inspired chiffon gown atop a man operated giant white horse.

What was the inspiration behind Miley’s…interesting performance background? While Miley Cyrus may have kept her red carpet look understated, the same can’t be said for her performance or her choice of outfit during it. Miley took to the stage in a cat printed crop top and bikini bottom combo that was equally as odd as the performance itself. While she sounded fantastic belting out a heartfelt rendition of her hit Wreaking Ball, we can’t help but wonder what the inspiration behind the cat-filled Star Wars-like montage going on behind her was.
