Fashion Meets Technology
We all know that technology is a high-speed way to find what you are looking for. It is convenient, accessible from the comfort of home, and available 24/7. As we have become more sophisticated online shoppers, we consumers want more, and companies are doing their best to provide newer and more innovative services in order to boost their e-commerce sales. Website and app companies are building programs so that you can shop from a picture. It is pretty amazing how these technology advances are changing the way we shop!
LIKEtoKNOW.it is an app that is taking us into the future of how fashion and technology are connected. With this app, you take photos of an outfit or style idea you like on Instagram, Pinterest, or Snapchat and the app allows you to shop for the items in the pictures that you like. You can also shop from the pictures that are posted on the LIKEtoKNOW.it app. The app also saves all of your favorite looks for you. So, if you have been pining after that new designer handbag that Jennifer Anniston is carrying these days, you can find a similar (and more affordable) one.
Pinterest has millions of amazing ideas for everything from decorating for a holiday to how to help your 5th grader with their science project. Now, Pinterest had launched a new branch of their website called Lens. When you go to the website, you are introduced to it with the greeting, “Hi, I’m Lens. Point me at anything from pants to plants and see what ideas I find.” So, if you love a flower arrangement at a hotel, and want to try and replicate it, you can take a picture of it and see what the Lens feature finds for you on Pinterest.
If you’re overwhelmed with all the style options out there, the DAAMN! app is one that will help you to get your look together. DAAMN!’s Stylist can help by recommending products that suit your personal taste. You just snap a picture of a few outfit choices (either your own or ones you want to copy) and the Stylists will give you an honest opinion, plus helpful tips on how to create THE perfect look.
