American Horror Story: Apocalypse is premiering tomorrow, September 12, 2018. It is the eighth season of the revoltingly gruesome but somehow addicting FX Horror anthology.

The series is not only full of horrific characters and visuals – it’s also riddled with clues and connections to story lines across seasons, and even loosely connected to heinous historical crimes.

The stars of American Horror Story’s first season, Murder House, Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott, are expected to reappear this season in Apocalypse. They played the husband and wife in the tragically and disturbingly haunted Los Angeles mansion of Season 1.

Neither actors have been back to the show since the first two seasons, while many others have returned throughout the series in different roles altogether. Jessica Lange, Emma Roberts, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Evan Peters, and Denis O’Hare have been continually important to the series.

Syfy.com put out a report on all they know about Season 8, which examines the many different symbols and associations across seasons. They write, “Murphy [one of the creators] has confirmed in the past that everything is, technically, connected in the world of AHS. But just how connected is it all? And how much do past seasons really matter in the long run? Are we all going to end up overthinking this? Definitely, yes. But that’s the fun part.”
