A Sports Filled Weekend Ahead
Baseball can get a little bit lost amid the flurry of football games, but we think you should be watching at least now and then with only a little more than a week left in the regular season.
So we’ll start our Weekend TV Six-Pack with a very solid National League Central Division matchup that will let you start the partying early. The Chicago Cubs, who have already clinched the division, host the St. Louis Cardinals, who are in pursuit of a wild-card berth, on Friday at 2 p.m. ET. Check it out on ESPN.

OK, end of baseball.
Got some college football for you. You might need two TVs to pull this off (or a good sports bar) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. No. 19 Florida (3-0) visits No. 14 Tennessee (3-0) in an SEC clash. Florida’s defense leads major college football with 16 sacks and allows a miserly 1.3 yards per rush. This one’s on CBS. Same time, but on ABC, is Penn State (2-1) at No. 4 Michigan (3-0) in a Big Ten game.
If you like scoring, try Cal (2-1) at Arizona State (3-0) Saturday night at Tempe, Arizona. Cal hung 50 on Texas last week and ASU put up 55 on Texas Tech a few weeks back. ESPN2 gets this one at 10 p.m.

You’ll need to check your local listings for the NFL Sunday, but we’re partial here to the 1 p.m. meeting of the Washington Redskins (0-2) and New York Giants (2-0) on Fox. The Redskins are sniping internally and reacting to every comment opponents make about them; the Giants are just going about their business and winning the close games they used to lose. The NFL nightcap is the battered Chicago Bears (0-2) at the Dallas Cowboys (1-1) at 8:20 p.m. on NBC. QB Jay Cutler is out for the Bears; rookie Dak Prescott hasn’t turned the ball over in his two starts for the Boys of Cow.
Golf’s FedEx Cup champion will be crowned on Sunday in Atlanta, concluding its four postseason tournaments. NBC has the coverage beginning at noon.
Put your heiner in the recliner and enjoy the weekend. As always, watch responsibly.
