It’s time for turkey, but more importantly, a time to enjoy all the holiday specials. Here is a Thanksgiving watch guide including air times and networks.
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Watching the Macy’s parade is an ongoing past-time for most Americans on Thanksgiving with floats and performances galore, not to mention supporting local marching bands. Some of the performers for this year include Billy Porter, Kelly Rowland, Natasha Beddingfield, Idina Menzel, Black Eyed Peas, Idina Menzel, and more. You can catch the magic of the Macy’s parade from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on NBC.
The National Dog Show
Pure pageantry and poodles, The National Dog Show is a classic Thanksgiving staple for entertainment. The best of the best of adorable fancy pups, need I say more? NBC Sports will be broadcasting The National Dog Show from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
A Very Gaga Thanksgiving
Lady Gaga singing in celebration of Thanksgiving and Christmas, what else do you need? Gaga’s Thanksgiving special aired on ABC in 2011 but you can stream the special on Vimeo this year. If you’re a true Gaga fan this could become a new Thanksgiving tradition as the special is timeless and celebrates all the great things about the holidays.
“Drinksgiving”
This funny movie is about a girl who wants to host Thanksgiving for the first year since graduating college in the hope of showing off her new house while her old friends are back in town for the holidays, but things go awry really quick. “Drinksgiving” is available on Hulu.
“A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving”
The name says it all, the classic cartoon character Charlie Brown and his Thanksgiving hijinks. This Thanksgiving special is about Charlie Brown hosting his first Friendsgiving with Snoopy, Woodstock, and the rest of the gang for a family-friendly Thanksgiving special that all ages will love. On Thanksgiving day you can watch the special on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
“Instant Family”
This might not be too related to Thanksgiving but this a great movie to watch with the family for Thanksgiving. The movie follows a couple played by Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne that want to become foster parents and foster three siblings that change their lives forever. It’s a family laugh-riot that is also a cute movie to watch for the holidays. You can stream “Instant Family” now on Hulu.
