Sean Hannity makes a questionable offer to Congresswoman

Conservative TV host Sean Hannity really wants New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to come on his show. In fact, he promised to devote a whole hour–the total duration of his TV program on Fox News–to a debate with the freshman representative.

“I’m going to extend tonight an offer to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” Hannity said. “I want to give you an hour invitation to come on this show to have a discussion…We get a lot of criticism on this program. We’ll talk, we’ll have a conversation. Hope you’ll join us.”

Ocasio-Cortez, who is 29 years old, is known for her outspoken views on everything from economics to women’s rights to immigration. In July alone, she’s been in the news for visiting an immigrant detention center on the border, where she denounced Customs and Border Patrol agents for holding immigrants in inhumane conditions. This week, she’s been feuding with Nancy Pelosi, the top Democrat in the House, saying Pelosi is targeting “women of color.”

“But the persistent singling out … It got to a point where it was just outright disrespectful. The explicit singling out of newly elected women of color,” Ocasio-Cortez said of Pelosi.

So far, Ocasio-Cortez has not responded to Hannity’s request to have her on his show. He also offered to devote the entirety of his three-hour radio show to a debate with Ocasio-Cortez.
