Reports that R. Kelly and Justin Bieber are coming together to record a new track are no more rumors. Yes, in an interview to Vibe magazine, Kelly himself has confirmed that the duo has teamed up for the fresh venture, and the new song written by Kelly will be released sometime next week.

“I just did a song (with him). (Justin) just called me to do a song and it’s hot. He wanted to go and do some R&B stuff, so we got together and did that”, Kelly said, setting at rest all the rumors that were doing rounds ‘for’ and ‘against’ the collaboration. It was after the teen pop star sent a tweet to Kelly about a fortnight ago that read “They aren’t ready” that news spread around like forest fire about the possible collaboration between the two popular personalities, although there were many who were not prepared to purchase such an arrangement.

Having recorded lyrics for a new version of Bruno Mars’ “Gorilla”, Kelly has been in news very much, drawing widespread attention from his ardent followers. He also hit fame after making his presence on “Do What U Want”, Lady Gaga’s Artpop song. If that’s not enough, Kelly also joined hands with 2 Chainz on his own track My Story that will find a place on his next release Black Panties. This is what must have prompted many people to wonder if such a combination will really work out in the given situation.

Asked to comment on the joint venture, Kelly said he was very much at his very best. “Honestly, I’m at my best one-on-one. So anybody who wants to mess with Kellz, I’m on the front line for ’em”, he said. For those who had taken note of Kelly and Beiber hanging out together a few months earlier, their collaboration is something which was very much on the cards.

Now a world-famous pop musician, actor and singer-songwriter, the 19-year-old Canada-born Bieber came to limelight when his videos on YouTube were scrutinized by American talent manager Scooter Braun in 2008. Ever since Bieber made his debut through the seven-track My World in November 2009, there has been no looking back for the versatile personality, and his popularity chart has been steadily moving up. In fact, his debut attempt won platinum certification in the U.S. Also, he earned the rare distinction of being the first singer to have seven songs from a debut record to find a place on the Billboard Hot 100. His maiden full-length studio album My World 2.0, which was released in November 2010, was also well received, registering record sales in many nations. This album also won platinum certification in the U.S.

Bieber, who has sold more than 15 million albums up to May 2012, is a recipient of a series of awards and honors. The long list of awards won by him includes Artist of the Year Awards which he claimed at the 2010 as well as 2012 American Music Awards. He was also earned a nomination at the 53rd Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album. Bieber is among the few world-renowned singers who enjoy a fan following of more than 40 million on social network Twitter. In 2012, he was also named as the third-most powerful celebrity in the world by Forbes.
