Golf event charity for coronavirus relief
The coronavirus (COVID-19) is canceling and postponing sports events around the world, but golf is carrying on. On Sunday, golf returned to live television with a televised charity game that raised more than $5 million for COVID-19 relief funds thanks to participants Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy, Matthew Wolf, and Dustin Johnson.
The next live golf event is the “Capitol One The Match: Champions for Charity” on Sunday, May 24 with players including Tiger Woods, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Phil Mickelson. This event will also be raising funding for COVID-19 relief funds.
Fans have expressed concerns about people be attending in large groups but these events will not have any spectators with only essential production staff and golfers in attendance to promote fans to watch at home. President Trump is looking forward to attending large social events and having the same experience before COVID-19 including not having to wear face masks.
It would be nice to get back to normal life before having to take extra precautions around COVID-19 but we need to do this now to prevent spreading COVID-19 and getting back to normal.
