It has been quite the year for Pop star Miley Cyrus. From her controversial performance at the VMAs to multiple new hit singles, there has been much to talk about in regards to the singer this year. Miley Cyrus is aiming to continue her growth into the New Year as she recently announced that she will be going on tour in 2014. The tour will be in support of her new album Bangerz. It is her fourth album and was released on October 4th. Cyrus took an interesting approach in announcing the tour, showing up on Saturday Night Live to share it with the world before making the announcement on Twitter.

The Announcement

Miley Cyrus was not scheduled to appear on Saturday Night Live on the weekend, however it seemed like a great moment to announce her tour. While host Edward Norton was giving his opening monologue, Cyrus appeared and interrupted Norton to announce the tour. She did not take long to announce the news saying, “Real quick, I would just like to announce to all my fans, that I’m about to be going on tour.” Alec Baldwin also did not miss out on the chance to steal some of the spotlight as he kindly asked the viewers to also watch his new show on MSNBC. While it was not a surprise to cast members, the audience took the surprise well and Cyrus received quite the reception while on the set of Saturday Night Live.

The Tour

Later, Miley Cyrus announced by Twitter that she will be touring with a simple message that reads, “I’m gooooing on tooooooour!! #Bangerz2014Tour.” It has not yet been announced where and when Cyrus will be performing, however there is much anticipation as to those dates. There is still time left before the tour will actually start, so there is no need to worry about missing out on a potential date. For those that are interested in finding out right away as to when the dates are announced, the Cyrus camp has recommended signing up for newsletters from the pop star. As soon as the tour dates are announced, those on the list will receive an email with the option to buy tickets to the show.

Although Bangerz is her fourth album, it is the second released under the name of Miley Cyrus. Her first two albums were released as Hannah Montana. The album debuted as the number one album on iTunes. Additionally, it debuted as the #1 on Billboard’s top 200. Selling over 270,000 copies it made the number one spot in 70 countries throughout North America, Europe and Oceania. Considering her popularity throughout the world, it is likely that she will be touring the world and not just at home through North America. While the world will have to wait until official announcements are made, many can speculate as to where she will likely tour.
