Previewing The Masters
The field may well have teed off at the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia, by the time this comes across your screen.
Don’t worry. There’s plenty go in the 83rd edition of this prestigious and historic event.
That doesn’t mean you will see it all. The folks who run the Masters are mighty particular about every aspect, including TV coverage. So be ready to stream video to watch your favorites as the morning unfolds.
The Masters live stream on CBSSports.com is available from 9:15 a.m. ET to 7:30 p.m. ESPN will show the tournament from 3-7 p.m.
Key fellows to watch and their tee times:
• Patrick Reed, the defending champion, plays with Webb Simpson and Viktor Hovland, beginning at 10:31 a.m.
• Tiger Woods, who has missed the Masters three of the last four years, plays with Jon Rahm and Haotong Li at 11:04 a.m. Woods has won the tournament four times, but not since 2005.
• Rory McIlroy, who has never won the Masters, tees off at 11:15 a.m. with Rickie Fowler and Cameron Smith. A win by McIlroy would give him a career Grand Slam at the age of 29. He has had a strong, consistent season so far despite a loss to Woods in the WGC-Dell Match Play tournament.
You’ll be watching the best of the best in one of the most picturesque places golf can offer. Try not to wince when CBS’ Jim Nantz calls it “a tradition unlike any other” for about the millionth time. It’s the Masters’ version of “let’s get ready to rumble.”
