Kim Kardashian Wants To Add Bar Association Member To Her Resume

Kim Kardashian is serious about pursuing her dream of becoming a lawyer. In fact, she posted a photo of herself on Instagram this week, studying from law textbooks with her attorney mentors, Jessica Jackson and Erin Haney.

“Last year I registered with the California State Bar to study law. For the next 4 years, a minimum of 18 hours a week is required, I will take written and multiple choice tests monthly,” Kim wrote on Instagram. “As my first year is almost coming to an end I am preparing for the baby bar, a mini version of the bar, which is required when studying law this way.”

Kim hit back at critics who pointed out she doesn’t have the education—an undergraduate degree from a four-year college—required to attend law school.

“I’ve seen some comments from people who are saying it’s my privilege or money that got me here, but that’s not the case,” Kim said. “The state bar doesn’t care who you are. Everyone can take this route if you live in a state where this is allowed. It’s true I did not finish college. You need 60 college credits (I had 75) to take part in ‘reading the law’, which is an in-office law school being apprenticed by lawyers.”

Kim emphasized that studying law is far from easy, especially when you’re a mom of three.

Kim’s late father, Robert Kardashian, was an attorney as well. In recent years, Kim has used her celebrity status to promote changes to prison-sentencing laws and other legal reforms, and even met with President Donald Trump to convince him to release Alice Marie Johnson, a grandmother held in prison for decades over a non-violent drug offense.
