Google is coming up with its’ own version of a home voice system with a three part plan of attack to take on Amazon’s Alexa. Firstly, Google showed a video demonstrating how Google Home uses a system where it uses the context of a previously asked question to answer the next one, if the questions are related.
Amazon’s Alexa can’t do that yet, but can respond to some basic internet searches. (The Google assistant on android phones has similar contextual awareness.) Secondly, Google Home allows you to sync devices. If you have more than one Echo in your home, they won’t talk to each other. Google Home promises to talk to any Chromecast device.
Thirdly, Google Home will allow you to customize your machine. Its’ customizable design will allow you to change the color of the base to match your home décor. The Echo only comes in one color. If Google comes through will all of these ideas, it just might surpass Amazon…check it out!
