Frozen Shatters Records
The fantastically magical thrill ride known as Frozen remains unstoppable…at least at the box office.
Disney announced that following its recent release in Japan, Frozen is now the highest-grossing animated movie of all time. Surpassing the smash hit film ‘Toy Story 3’ and amassing more than $1 billion in theaters worldwide.
Frozen is loosely based on Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen, the film came out in the US last November, and was the first non-Pixar 3D animation from Disney to win an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
This latest honor is just the most recent in a string of accolades and adoration for the Disney musical.
The film also snagged two Oscars at the recent Academy Awards, is in the running to become the fast-selling digital release of all time, boasts a record-breaking soundtrack and holds the number ten spot on the list of highest-grossing films ever.
