Britney Spears looks like she’s quite determined to make her Las Vegas show, “Britney: Piece of Me”, slated to begin at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on Dec. 27, a resounding success. Or, that’s what you will get to understand from the manner in which the music icon is straining her body to turn fit for the mega event.

“I have not been this sore in my entire life”, Britney said in a new interview with Vegas Player magazine. The 31-year-old entertainer, who is also a mother of two, said she was even finding it difficult to move around, undergoing rigorous training with a choreographer. “When I started working out, I was sore for like, three days. I could hardly move. I’m really challenging myself with the choreography”, Britney said.

Something Special

Making it clear that she want to give her best and something different to her Las Vegas fans, the songstress said: “Whenever I do a show, I’m really keen on making it a show. I love to dance and perform…because it’s Vegas, I want to do something different. This is the perfect place to bring it to the next level”, she asserted.

On her current tour for the two-year residency, the pop singer, who has had several memorable hits such as “Baby One More Time”, “Toxic”, “Oops! I Did It Again”, “You Drive Me Crazy”, “Womanizer” and “A Slav 4 U”, said: “When you tour, it’s so hard on the body. I look back and I don’t know how I did it. Being in one place is cool. It’s a more stable environment.”

Indicating that she has been enjoying her song and dance sessions in the city, the award-winning singer said: “Las Vegas is a fun place. There is so much going on. The energy here is incredible. You feel it walking through the casino. Everybody is here to have a good time.”

Britney, who has sold more than 100 million albums across the world, said she was particular to staying grounded, a task which she has entrusted to a small group of people.

Staying Grounded

“It’s important to have a group of people around you who can keep you down to earth. It’s a mind altering experience when you become a pop star at such a young age”, she said, adding “some people are made for it and some people aren’t. If you keep good friends around you and stay grounded, you’ll be ok.”

With Britney disclosing her plans to sing live during her Las Vegas residency, it’s expected that the show will feature several of her all-time hits and also some new material from her eighth studio album. It’s expected that most of her 50 shows will draw a huge audience that doesn’t want her to engage in lip-synching as speculated in a section of the press.

According to latest reports, Britney, a former child star and also a judge on the well-received singing competition show, “The X Factor”, has been undergoing vocal training along with dance rehearsal to make “Piece of Me” a never-seen-before musical extravaganza.
