Ariana wants to focus on her mental health

Ariana Grande has fewer stops in Europe on her upcoming tour schedule, and she says it’s because she needs a break for mental health reasons. After a fan criticized her for playing four shows in Florida instead of touring overseas, Grande gave a candid response.

“the truth is: european leg is going to be a big step. i’m really excited about it and grateful to do it! but since you’re asking, this is simply the best i’m capable of at this time and keeping me closer to home for a majority of the dates is what’s best for my health [right now]. love u!” Grande wrote on Instagram.

Grande has been open with fans about her struggles with mental health issues, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She developed the disorder after her concert in Manchester, England, was hit with a terrorist bombing in 2017. She also lost her boyfriend, Mac Miller, to an overdose last year, and she cried when she played a show in Miller’s hometown.

Grande also told fans that she is not ruling out more European tour dates, but she is definitely focused on her recovery right now.

“But i’m kind of excitedly playing it by ear and seeing how it goes you know? being 100% transparent. i’m like so enjoying it right now, but baby steps. who knew we’d end up doing 9 months of shows. it’s been a blessing for sure,” she wrote.
