Ben Stiller’s Mom Has Passed Away

The comedy world has lost another icon – Anne Meara sadly passed away this weekend at the age of 85. Anne was one half of the comedy team “Stiller & Meara” with her husband of 61 years, Jerry Stiller.

A statement issued that the couple has been working together for almost as long as they’ve been married, producing numerous laughs and entertaining the world for over half a decade. Meara has two children – her daughter Amy Stiller and actor Ben Stiller.

Meara was born in Brooklyn, New York and studied to become a prestigious dramatic actor, but once she met her goofball husband, Jerry, the two realized they had real comedic chemistry that could not be wasted.

Together they had frequent appearances on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’ and then continued on to star in many other projects both together and a part. She played practically hundreds upon hundreds of television roles on every show from ‘Sex and the City’ to ‘Seinfeld’ to ‘The Love Boat.’

Celebrities from all generations have reached out to Twitter to express their deepest condolences and honor her amazing career. It is no doubt that Hollywood certainly has lost a great comedian and actress.
