Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson has officially confirmed her participation in the highly anticipated Jurassic World film, marking her transition into another major franchise following her successful tenure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actress expressed her excitement and admiration for the film’s script in a recent interview.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, Johansson shared her enthusiasm for joining the Jurassic World series, a franchise she has cherished since childhood. “I’m an enormous Jurassic Park fan. It’s one of the first films I remember seeing in the theater. I remember seeing it so vividly. It was life-changing. It was mind-blowing,” she reminisced. “The script is so incredible. David Koepp wrote it. He returned after like 30 years to write the script. He’s so passionate about it, which is so awesome.”
Rumors about Johansson’s involvement in the new Jurassic World film began circulating in March and have now been officially confirmed. The actress is set to star in the seventh installment of the franchise, a series she has pursued joining for over a decade, particularly since the success of Jurassic World in 2015.
The upcoming film is currently in principal photography in Thailand under the direction of Gareth Edwards. It promises to introduce fresh narratives and characters while remaining firmly rooted in the iconic Jurassic Park universe. Joining Johansson in the cast are esteemed actors Rupert Friend, Jonathan Bailey, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, with speculation surrounding a potential role for two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali.
Scheduled for release on July 2, 2025, the film aims to capture the essence of the original Jurassic Park while pushing boundaries in storytelling and visual effects. Fans of the franchise eagerly anticipate this new chapter, which blends nostalgia with cutting-edge cinematic experiences.
